TAKE ACTION IN TENNESSEE
In 2025, Tennessee House and Senate passed landmark legislation expanding daily recess in elementary schools from just 15 minutes to 40 minutes. The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support — nearly unanimous in the Senate and unanimous in the House — and was propelled in large part by the grassroots advocacy group Say YES to RECESS, founded here in Tennessee.
2025
Say YES to RECESS continues to advocate for recess by opposing HB 2027, that is attempting to undue what was accomplished in 2025.
