TAKE ACTION IN TENNESSEE

In 2025, Tennessee House and Senate passed landmark legislation expanding daily recess in elementary schools from just 15 minutes to 40 minutes. The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support — nearly unanimous in the Senate and unanimous in the House — and was propelled in large part by the grassroots advocacy group Say YES to RECESS, founded here in Tennessee.

Building on this momentum, Say YES to RECESS will take another landmark step in 2026 by advocating for a middle school recess bill.
